More fun and games this week with Monday nights training getting off to a flying start with the Nunchaku Class. Congratulations to Dohigh Jose on learning his Nunchaku Kata, very well done, just the Waza to go now:-)
Meanwhile, Richard San put the Aikido students through their paces with the practice for the first part gradings.
This type of drill has really gone up a few notches since having the matts more readily available. Students are getting more comfortable with ‘floor association’ every week!!!

Wednesday night swung into action with Mark San taking the warm, all was going well til Tim San put his oar in and requested more audience participation!! If you weren’t there, ask one of the guys about the signifcance of ‘Number 8’!

Once again the aikido guys took to the mats to work on their drills while the higher grades (plus a beginner? Who held his own really well!!!) Revisited the ‘Chikara Waza Forms’.
Here the emphasis was on using the power that exists within the forms rather than resorting to the ‘sweat and grunt’ approach. The high grades did very well at this, managing all three forms without passing out 🙂

Richard San later ran a series of 1-2-1 sessions, assisted by Tor San while Tim San entertained the remaing class students with more analogy laiden drills!!

And a final reminder for Saturdays’ self defence workshop. If you know anyone that might be interested then please bring them along.

See you in the Dojo 🙂
