Second week back in the main classes and we are well and truly back to our regular training formats. This weeks round up of private lessons and small group training at the Cheltenham Dean Close Dojo saw Lucy San squarely landed with a new project to test her new found black belt skill sets!

Kick better!

Kick better!

Plus a refresher session for the Dohighs as well as some great personal tuition from Tim San on kicking technique with Kohigh Heidi. Sempai Will was Richard Sans unwitting student/victim for his private session, and Tor San was given free rein to refresh some great aikido concepts to the main class!!
It always amazes us how effective a one to one session really is. Just about everyone walked in on Wednesday night a little rusty in their movements and definitely hazy about their syllabus, but with some expert coaching and the will to get better from themselves it didn’t take long for everyone to back up to speed and back on top of their syllabus.
The other great thing about 1-2-1 training is that you learn at your own pace. No two private lessons were the same on that Monday or Wednesday night as no two students learn the same way, or even at the same rate. And as even a single technique can have many complex facets, its important to us to take that extra time to make sure our students really grasp the concepts ahead of them.

Announcements for this week; the web site is getting a little make-over, which should be fun! Also the gradings will be upon us in the spring before we know it, so the next important date for your diary is the ‘Grading & Performance Night’ on the 26th of February, we are looking forward to seeing you all there!!

See you in the dojo!
