Great to see all the classes coming back up to speed after the long holiday closure at Deanclose, even more New year interest from new people looking to return to Martial arts was seen this week. Many thanks to Kevin San and Ben San who have been helping Richard San run the intro lessons on Aikido for the newcomers, lovely to see our new black belts grow into the role of sensei. Remember if you have any friends or acquaintances interested in martial arts, then this is perfect time to bring them along to one of our sessions.new poster mk 6
Monday as usual had the great class mix of sword with Richard San and Aikido with Tim San, then followed by some up-tempo combat drills that worked on many levels, focus and smoothness for the blackbelts, and just keeping up for the lower grades!

Wednesday night was our usual concentration on syllabus work, taught in depth with the individual Senseis, great to see Tor San back from illness and back up to speed, cant keep a good 2nd Dan down!!
Keep checking on the Wisewarrior blogs, as we will be updating them regularly, especially the Tim San and Richard San blogs.
One of our new projects for this year will be personal exhibition demonstrations performed to the class. So If you are black belt and fancy performing a demo you have written along with Tim San and Richard San, and that could be filmed for you, then just speak to us, it could be a lot fun, plus hones your performance skills that are so important for the Dan grades, also not a bad way to have some one to one input from a 4th Dan!

See you in the dojo!

It was brilliant to be involved in the new student interviews.

You’re never too advanced to practice the basic stances and techniques; and it’s a completely different task trying to teach something to a non-martial artist!
