In Richard Sans absence, this week Tim San wound the clock back a few months and decided to take the class through some good old fashioned ‘high tempo’ partner training!
Although a relatively small private tuition class, those in attendance on the Wednesday night session got stuck into another of Tim San’s hare brained; overly complicated routines that tested memory, reflex and skill simultaneously.

A Wisewarrior combat class

A Wisewarrior combat class

A Te Waza of sorts, intended as a partner based workout, dealing with some classic attacks and using just about every hand technique at a Kohighs disposal… Shutos, Empies and Shoteis being thrown from every angle.
It was really great to see both veterans and novices going toe to toe with this gritty routine, with all grades working hard to keep their opponents on top form, excellent work!!

Partner training is an extremely important part of martial arts training; here students bring their knowledge and skill together to solve problems and work as a unit. With a unifying count the class worked well and we got a great deal of spirit in the room.

Richard San is back this week, we’ll see if we can twist his arm to do more of the same this week!

Speaking of the; ‘good old days’, some of our veterans will be pleased (or worried!) to hear that Roy San made is debut back in the dojo this week; after a 3 year absence from the physical! Well done to you Roy San from all the team!

See you in the dojo 🙂
