The new format to Monday night training sessions proved their worth again this week. Having that combatsword split allows us to bring the class all together to best enjoy the subject without grade distractions. With this weeks combat lesson on knife defence and with a class of all grades; it was important that the concept held something for everyone. The gist of the concept was to find the simplest solution to the problem as all to easily we tend to think in terms of ‘cool moves’ that rely on a specific attack. Mondays lesson was deliberately based around a spontaneous knife attack, meaning that the concept was far more important than the moves!!

And the lesson sparked some interesting conversations that are still provoking thought, and creating topics for this weeks Facebook posts, based upon the concepts laid down on Monday nights training session. In particular how being open minded can lead and hone the reflexes.
